Banu Pashutanizadeh
In-Flight Coordinator for Auckland Coastguard Air Patrol
Banu has been volunteering with Coastguard as an In-Flight Coordinator since 2014, wanting to give back to New Zealand and the community that allowed her to study, work and live here. Banu loves flying and aviation, making a role with Auckland Coastguard Air Patrol a perfect fit.
"Why do I do what I do? It's because we get to save lives at sea. We get to make sure that every person gets home and can tell their friends and family about the great time they had out on the water."
"To any other women out there who are looking to help or looking to give back to their community, I'd say 'just do it'! It's fantastic - the camaraderie, the friends you make, the people you meet - go to the Coastguard website and sign up."
